The Clean Bin Project is the HMS Ecology Club’s way of welcoming
Earth Day, 2018
THIS THURSDAY NIGHT! April 19, 6 pm, the film will begin at 6:20 pm.
Bring the whole family to see the documentary that will change your life! It changed mine.
We will have representatives and displays from CVWMA (Central Virginia Waste management Authority) and Keep Henrico Beautiful, as well as a TREX display on how our plastic film is being recycled.
We will be selling brownies and soft drinks. There will be free popcorn, and many give-a-ways.
TREX CHALLENGE UPDATE! Our plastic bag challenge is down to the final month! Bring in all your plastic so we can send a count in to Trex by April 15nd!

The Holman Ecology Club will be featuring the documentary The Clean Bin Project on Thursday, April 19th from 6pm-8pm in the Holman Auditorium. This is a FREE event open to Holman families and we would love to see all of our students! We already have a strong support for recycling at Holman and we would like to encourage a broader understanding of protecting the environment!

It’s easy being GREEN!
There will be no spring sports practices on Friday, March 30th. Happy Spring Break!
Tryouts for Spring Sports start Tuesday, March 20th after school. All students who wish to try-out need to have the following three items turned in:
- Student Activities Contract
- Middle School Athletic Participation Form
- Student Athlete Concussion Policy
You can turn in these forms to Mr. Elza, the athletic director.
Meet April Wallace, a bus driver who demonstrates the Heart of Henrico everyday.
Aryan P., from Holman Middle School has qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee!
The Virginia State Bee will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018. Please visit the State Bee Homepage, and click on Virginia to access the state Bee website and review event information.

Plastic challenge update – As of today, we have recycled 480 lbs. The winning middle school last year had 758 lbs. We want to set a goal of another 400 lbs! We can do it! Bring in your grocery, produce, plastic wrap! The TREX drop off box are located at the front and bus loop entrances!
Toners – Did you know Holman collects old toners for recycling? Yes, we do! Please bring them in!
